CULTEC Gives Assistance to Haiti Victims

January 21, 2010 - Overwhelmed by the tragedy in Haiti, CULTEC wanted to see how we could help. Company President, Bob DiTullio, Jr. had seen a local news broadcast about Haiti Marycare, a Danbury, CT based-organization, asking for donations and / or volunteers and saw a way we could help out. CULTEC assisted by donating both time coordinating the shipment and covering the freight costs for an overnight air freight shipment of medical supplies from Utah to Florida which would then be shipped to Haiti. "Our experience in logistics gave us the contacts required to ship the supplies needed in a timely manner at no cost to the Haiti Marycare organization," said Mr. DiTullio. CULTEC Stormwater Chambers Included in Bentley Systems' New PondPack V8i Software Application
September 30, 2009 CULTEC Inc. today announced that it is currently the only stormwater chamber manufacturer whose products are included in Bentley Systems new PondPack V8i application for the analysis and design of detention ponds. CULTEC and Bentley partnered to help PondPack V8i users design their hydraulic models with CULTEC chambers faster and more efficiently.
Modelers can now employ PondPack V8i to construct complex arrays of CULTEC storage chambers, which can be further combined with other standard pond components to create a single storage unit to be used in the routing analysis.
CULTEC reached out to us with the suggestion to include its chambers in PondPack V8i. We agreed that this additional capability will make work easier for our users who include CULTEC chambers in their stormwater management plans, said Malcolm Sharkey, product manager, stormwater products at Bentley.
PondPack V8is engineering libraries contain the parameters of all CULTEC chamber models, including the Contactor® and Recharger® series. The Storage Chamber Library allows users to manage pre-entered CULTEC chambers as well as to customize them in their hydraulic models.
Besides including CULTEC detention chambers, the application features an enhanced graphical user interface, new support for CAD platforms, and support for new hydraulic elements. PondPack V8is analysis engine sizes ponds, develops outlet rating curves with tail water effects, accounts for pond infiltration, calculates pond detention times, analyzes channels, performs interconnected pond routing computations and handles divergent (multiple) outfalls. Accepted by the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), PondPack V8i is also on the list of numerical models accepted for use in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).

CULTEC Offers New CULTEC StormGenie Automated Drawing Program
May 22, 2009 - The CULTEC StormGenie is an AutoCAD® plug-in for designing CULTEC Stormwater Systems. It is used in conjunction with CULTEC's Stormwater Design Calculator to generate project-specific AutoCAD® drawings for CULTEC's Contactor® and Recharger® Retention and Detention Stormwater Systems. The StormGenie takes information from the Stormwater Design Calculator and creates square beds based on the client's project input.
No other stormwater product manufacturer has a drawing program like this! Just another way that CULTEC is making the design phase that much easier.

CULTEC Offers HydroCAD CULTEC Edition - Free of Charge
March 4, 2009 CULTEC is offering its customers a free HydroCAD CULTEC edition, available for download here.
This custom edition allows constructing basic watershed models of up to five nodes, including storage, runoff, and routing calculations for the companys Contactor®, Recharger®, HVLV, and Field Drain models.
HydroCAD CULTEC is used to generate a complete inflow or runoff hydrograph and route it through the pond, calculating water levels attained throughout a rainfall event and any discharge that may occur through outlet devices or infiltration. It models complex storage arrangements, such as combinations of multiple chambers, pipe storage and catch basins. HydroCAD CULTEC also calculates the combined storage for chambers entrenched in a bed of crushed stone at any water surface elevation.
HydroCAD CULTEC makes it easy for CULTECs customers to design and model underground retention and detention systems, especially when they need to determine the combined storage for a configuration of chambers, without resorting to any manual calculations, said Peter Smart, developer at HydroCAD Software Solutions.
Existing HydroCAD users should obtain a version update to retain the capabilities of their software as CULTEC edition will replace any previous HydroCAD installation. CULTECs Contactor® series included in HydroCAD are lower profile, lower capacity chambers used primarily for managing stormwater for installations with stringent depth restrictions.
