High Volume, Low Velocity (HVLV™) Header System
CULTEC has designed a chamber-type High Volume, Low Velocity (HVLV™) Header System to be used in conjunction with its CULTEC Recharger® stormwater chambers. The HVLV™ Header System alleviates the need for a conventional pipe and stone manifold system. Elevations and center-to-center spacing of the units are pre-set based on the Recharger® model specified. The units have an open bottom to allow for maximum flow volumes at a retarded rate of speed similar to the design of its plastic stormwater chambers. This allows the water to move at a slower rate and infiltrate rather than outflow.
The open bottom of the HVLV™ Header system permits capitalizing on the infiltrative capabilities of the manifold while also conveying the stormwater to the CULTEC Recharger® stormwater management chamber system.
A 4’ (1.2 m) wide CULTEC No. 20L™ Polyethylene Liner is placed beneath the HVLV™ Header System to prevent scouring and to provide a smooth surface upon which the stormwater may travel.
Feed connectors are inserted into the HVLV™ Header sections to act as feed lines to the bed of stormwater detention/retention chambers.
We currently manufacture two series of HVLV Header Systems:
HVLV 180 Header System To be used with Recharger 180, 280 and 330 only.
 |
The HVLV 180 Header System goes in front of the chamber bed when used with Recharger Models 280 and 330. By installing the header first, it presets the center to center spacing of the Recharger chamber rows. |
 |
The HVLV 180 Header System goes in-line with the Recharger Model 180. Because the HVLV 180 Header System directly interlocks with the Recharger 180 chambers the characteristic gap between a conventional manifold and chamber bed is thereby eliminated and allows for a more compact installation. |

CULTEC Chambers have a higher storage capacity in a lower profile product and require less stone than HDPE pipe.
HVLV V8 Header System
 |
To be used with Recharger V8 only. – our largest capacity stormwater chamber
The Recharger V8 chambers use their own in-line HVLV V8 Header System to manifold the units together. The HVLV F110 Feed Connectors are utilized as the cross-feed lines to allow water to flow from row to row. The HVLV V8 Header System offers versatility due to its ability of either being placed on the ends or in the center of a bed. Because the HVLV V8 Header System directly interlocks with the Recharger V8 chambers the characteristic gap between a conventional manifold and chamber bed is thereby eliminated and allows for a more compact installation. |

Our Contactor series does not currently support the HVLV Header System. Please use a conventional pipe manifold when using Contactor models.
Advantages over conventional pipe manifolds:
- No haunching
- No critical alignment
- No heavy equipment for placement
- Lightweight
- Less burial depth required
- Smaller separation requirements
- Less stone
